Welcome to MOPS!

Welcome to the St. Edith/St Kenneth MOPS group! Here you will find a place where you are able to get support from other moms, try new things and actually enjoy a meal without little fingers touching every last piece of food on your plate. I have been a part of this group for just over 2 years and I can tell you these women are the least judgmental, most supportive and loving people I have ever met. I was welcomed with open arms and was never looked at funny for my “never-been-to-yoga” pants or my “crazy-mom” face. My goal is for you to feel as loved and supported as I did when I joined MOPS.

I was at a turning point in my “Mom Life.” I was at home with a 1 year old that had screamed for a year. I wanted to be with her and still feel like an actual person. MOPS was my much needed answer. I was able to get a 2 hour break where I could swap war and victory stories with other moms, eat, and know that my daughter was not only having a great time but also being well cared for. After my first meeting, I was hooked! Now, 2 years and another baby later I am still just as hooked.

Since then I have also been able to grow , not only as a mom, but as a “grown up” too. I was honored to lead the discussion meetings last year and now this year I am blessed to be leading this amazing group of women. I may

come off as that “crazy MOPS lady” because, well, I am. I am in love with MOPS and this group. I have met women in this group that inspire me every day. They know my faults and somehow still love and support me. I think that this is what everyone is looking for in life and I hope you find it here like I did.

This year’s theme is “Beautiful Mess” and I can’t tell you how much I relate to this and how many other moms I know that are thinking “yep, that’s my life.” I am excited to dig into this theme with you. As moms we deal with so many things at one time it can be hard to see the beauty in our everyday life. This year we will be able to acknowledge that yes, life is messy and almost always crazy but it is beautiful. You are beautiful, inside and out.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10 (New Living Translation)
